Coca-Cola recalled thousands of cases of lemonade mislabeled as ‘zero sugar’

Coca-Cola has recalled over 13,000 cases of Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade after discovering that the mislabeled cartons contained the regular full-sugar version, according to a report from the US Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA classifies this as a Class II recall, indicating a “health hazard situation where there is a minimal likelihood of adverse health effects.”

A single can of Minute Maid Lemonade contains 40 grams of sugar, as per product details on Amazon. The 12-pack cartons of the canned beverage were distributed to retailers in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Consumers can identify the recalled products by checking for the codes FEB1725CNA or FEB1725CNB printed on the packaging.

The recall began in early September, though no news release was issued at that time. “No affected products remain on the market, and all recall activities in those regions have been completed,” Coca-Cola stated to CNN. However, the FDA has classified the event as ongoing.
